Return Policy

We want you to love your ButtSnorkelers gear. But because every item is printed on demand — made just for you, by hand (well, by a very talented printer), at the moment you order it — our return policy works a little differently than your typical big-box retailer. Please read this carefully before you hit that "Buy Now" button.
1. The Golden Rule (No Returns for Cold Feet)
Because all products are custom-printed to order, we do not accept returns for buyer's remorse, change of mind, or "I thought it would be funnier in person." Once your item is printed, it is yours. We cannot resell custom-printed merchandise. This applies to all products including apparel, accessories, drinkware, and stickers.
2. When We DO Accept Returns (The Exceptions)
We stand behind the quality of our products. We will gladly provide a replacement or refund in the following situations:
- Defective Product: The print quality is poor, the ink is smudged, colors are significantly wrong, or the product has a manufacturing defect
- Damaged in Shipping: The item arrived ripped, torn, crushed, or otherwise damaged during transit (we blame the carrier, not the snorkel gods)
- Wrong Item Shipped: You received a product that is different from what you ordered — wrong size, wrong design, wrong product entirely
3. How to File a Claim (Send an SOS)
If you received a defective, damaged, or incorrect item, here is what to do:
- Step 1: Email us at SOS@buttsnorkelers.com within 14 days of receiving your order
- Step 2: Include your order number and a clear description of the issue
- Step 3: Attach clear photos showing the defect or damage (we need to see it to believe it — and to get our fulfillment partner to act on it)
- Step 4: We will review your claim and respond within 2-3 business days
Claims submitted after 14 days may not be eligible for a replacement or refund. Please inspect your order promptly upon delivery.
4. Replacements vs. Refunds (What Happens Next)
Once we approve your claim:
- Replacement: In most cases, we will send a replacement item at no additional cost to you. Replacements are produced and shipped by our fulfillment partner, Printful, and follow standard production and shipping timelines (2-5 business days production + 3-7 business days shipping).
- Refund: If a replacement is not possible (e.g., the product has been discontinued), we will issue a full refund to your original payment method via Stripe. Refunds typically appear within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
5. Size Issues (Measure Twice, Buy Once)
We do not offer exchanges or returns for incorrect size selection. Since each item is printed on demand, we cannot swap sizes. Please refer to the size chart on each product page before ordering. If you are between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up.
Pro tip: Measure a garment you already own and love, then compare those measurements to our size charts. Your future self (and your snorkel) will thank you.
6. Return Shipping (Who Pays?)
- In most cases, you will not need to ship anything back. We typically resolve claims with photos alone and send a replacement without requiring the original item to be returned.
- If we do request that you return a defective or incorrect item, we will provide a prepaid shipping label or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs.
- Do not ship items back to us without contacting us first. Unsolicited returns may not be processed.
7. Canceled Orders (Act Fast)
If you need to cancel an order, contact us at SOS@buttsnorkelers.com as soon as possible. Because our products go into production quickly, we can only cancel orders that have not yet entered the production queue. Once production begins, the order cannot be canceled.
8. Lost or Stolen Packages (Gone Snorkeling Without You)
If your tracking shows the package was delivered but you did not receive it:
- Check with neighbors, building management, or anyone else who may have accepted the package
- Contact the shipping carrier directly to file a claim
- Reach out to us at SOS@buttsnorkelers.com — we will do our best to help, but we cannot guarantee replacements for packages marked as delivered by the carrier
